‘Outlander’ releases the teaser trailer for its seventh season

As a much, much desired Christmas present, Starz has released an exciting teaser trailer for what will be Season 7 of ‘Outlander,’ and while they haven’t given an official date, He also announced that the series will return to the network in the summer of 2023. The new episodes will tell us what happens immediately after the end of the sixth season, when Claire (Caitríona Balfe) is arrested by Richard Brown (Chris Larkin) accused of the murder of Malva Christie (Jessica Reynolds) and of being a witch.

Malva’s father, Tom (Mark Lewis Jones), is convinced that Claire ended his daughter’s life by believing she was pregnant with Jamie (Sam Heughan) after a torrid affair that never came to fruition. Claire then prepares to face trial and for some reason she didn’t want to reveal who Malva was really related to. In the trailer we briefly see Claire preparing to hang in a scene that will no doubt make fans hold their breath.

During the preview, the voiceover of the two protagonists is also heard talking about the future: “I had a dream, there was light around you”, Jamie tells Claire, “It wasn’t a candle or firelight. And I thought, ‘That’s what electric light must be like'”; and she replies: “But how do you recognize something you’ve never seen in real life?” Perhaps it would be very far-fetched to think that both characters could end up traveling to the future, but a line from Jamie certainly opens a door to hope: “I dream of the past, why shouldn’t I dream of the future?”
