Digital cinema ticket seller Fandango has released the results of its poll of the most anticipated films of 2023, and what audiences most want to see is James Gunns Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
It doesn’t matter if someone tweets displeasure about the filmmaker’s plan for the revamped DC Universe. In a poll of 5K moviegoers, they plan to appear when the Disney Marvel Studios finale opens on May 5 next year.
Another encouraging statistic: 84% of ticket buyers plan to see six or more films on the big screen by 2023.
Nine of next year’s top ten must-see movies are sequels, all ten are franchises, including Universal/Illumation/Nintendo Super Mario Bros. Motherfie in slot number 10, repeating the first chapter of a series.

Some interesting top tips: Comedy you want to watch the most Magic Mike’s Last Dance during Super Bowl weekend February 10-12; Star Channing Tatum, who released his films around Valentine’s Day. David Zaslav, Warner Discovery boss, should be pleased with this result Magic Mike 3 as it is one of the films promoted to a big screen release by streamer HBO Max as part of its new conglomerate distribution strategy.
In another must-see for Warner Bros. next year: Stephen King’s film New Line Salem’s Lot is one of the most anticipated horror movies. The Gary Dauberman-directed film, which was shelved after Labor Day last year, has not yet been dated for 2023.
