Robert DeNiro is set to star in and executive produce a new crime series titled Mister Natural for Entertainment One. Looks like it’s going to be an interesting series worth checking out.
The story of the series follows Louis “Mr. Natural” Baron (De Niro), “who, fresh off a 30-year stint in federal prison, arrives in Palm Springs driven by dreams of reuniting with his stolen family and a dangerous plan to get a taste of the billions of lithium of the Salton Sea. There will be blood in the sand and bones in the desert. Palm Springs will never be the same.”
Mr. Natural was created by Mitch Glasser (Magic City), and is planned as a multi-season series, with Glazer executive producing Yellow stone‘S Art and John Linson. eOne does not yet have a platform related to the series, but it should be launched on the market soon.
Mr. Natural is the second series that De Niro has come on board recently. In November, it was also announced that he would star in the Netflix limited series Day Zero. Whichever of these projects goes first will be the actor’s first regular role in a TV series.
If either project moves forward on a series order, it would mark De Niro’s first regular television role.
