Ash Ketchum has finally become a champion and now The Pokémon Company is forcing him to retire at the ripe old age of 10 (although he’s been 10 for 25 years…). It has been announced by The Pokémon Company that the story of Ash and Pikachu will conclude with a collection of special episodes in the coming months. The last 11 episodes of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series will begin airing in Japan on January 13 and will introduce fan-favorite characters like Misty and Brock, as well as a taste of what Ash’s future holds for him.
This doesn’t mean the Pokémon the anime is ending though. Are you joking? That’s a money machine! The new series doesn’t seem to have a name yet, but it will take place in Paldea and will feature the owners of Pokémon Scarlet and Purple Pokémon: Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly. The new anime will also feature two protagonists named Liko and Roy (at least in the Japanese version) and will have its world premiere in 2023. Can’t wait to follow these new trainers in their adventures?
