I have some pretty exciting news to share with you regarding this Dave Filonithe upcoming live-action Ahsoka series that a lot of Star Wars fans will love. Before we go any further, this info contains major spoilers and comes from Making Star Wars, which tends to be right about the info they share.
The story follows Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) and Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) as they hunt down Grand Admiral Thrawn in hopes that he will lead them to find the lost Ezra Bridger, the young Jedi who disappeared with Thrawn many years before. Previously I got to see some footage that was really cool.
So, now that it’s out of the way, let’s dive in!
First, we’ll see a younger version of Ahsoka Tano in the series who will be played by another actress. While Rosario Dawson is on the series, she won’t be playing this younger version of the character, nor will Ahsoka’s voice actress. Ashley Eckstein. This young version of Ahsoka will appear in small flashback sequences.
So, the versions of Ahsoka they’ll see include one in her late teens, one for another undisclosed time period, which could be present-day Ahsoka in terms of the narrative herself, and then there’ll be the version we saw in the final moment of Star Wars Rebels in his white robes.
Next, we’ll see Ahsoka fight Darth Vader’ in more ways than one and Hayden Christensen required some training for one sequence in the series because we’ll see her face on screen again, wearing the same costume she wore on Mustafar in Revenge of the Sith.”
The story will also include several possible outcomes for Ahsoka’s life “and how essentially, whatever happens, they all lead to a particular moment in her story.” The report explains, “If Ahsoka had returned to the Jedi Order, it would have been her who fought Darth Vader on Mustafar having the high ground, not Obi-Wan Kenobi, because what happened had to happen, to get Tano to where she and the Skywalkers they had to be. I can also confirm Hayden Christensen fight scenes filmed with Clone Wars Ahsoka in this scenario.”
As for Dawson’s current Ahsoka storyline, “she’ll learn that Anakin Skywalker was destined to take the path he did and we as viewers will see aspects of those outcomes and some of them we’ll see live action.” Clone Wars it was Ahsoka Tano played by a new actor in a duel with her former Jedi Master, taking Obi-Wan Kenobi’s place in this reality that never was.
The report goes on to reveal more visions of an alternate past, proving that even if Ahsoka had killed Thrawn and Ezra Bridger hadn’t needed to use the Purrgil, Ahsoka’s fate would not have changed.
The theme of the series seems to be that Ahsoka is learning that she can’t change her destiny. He’s working through his regrets and learning to embrace his destiny. This series is going to be so badass! Can’t wait to watch it!
Dave Filoni previously said of the series, “Ahsoka is an ongoing story. It’s definitely driving towards a goal, in my mind, instead of being standalone little adventures. That’s what I want the character to do, and I think that’s what fans want now. They have such a relationship with her. I’ve only recently started to realize that all those kids who have seen Clone Wars are much older now — they’re very excited about all the things they’ve grown up with, as it should be. “
What do you think of these new details that have been shared!?
