Since James Gunn became president of DC Studios, he has made it clear through various statements that the franchise will receive major changes and that he, along with co-president Peter Safran, will create a new DC Universe. While we still know virtually nothing about the films, artists and creative teams that will shape the franchise, Gunn wanted to give the public a little information about his future and has revealed all the way Chirping who already have a person in mind for a future project. The chosen one is Ben Affleck, an actor who played Batman in the DCU.
According to Gunn, Affleck’s return to the franchise would not be as an actor, but as a director. The DC boss once again used Twitter, a tool through which he directly addresses different aspects of the saga with the public, to explain that he and Safran already have the blueprints for the new DC Universe. In one of the tweets, he assured that he had met Affleck in order to be part of the new plans as a director of a film or series: “Yesterday I met Ben precisely because he wants to direct and we want him to direct, we just have to find the right project”. Affleck, known mainly for his work as an actor, has also been at the helm of the direction of several films such as ‘Argo’, ‘Goodbye little goodbye (Gone Baby Gone)’ or ‘Live at night’.
