New details revealed for Lucasfilm’s STAR WARS: SKELETON CREW series

Lucasfilm has been busy producing a new film Star Wars series which was developed by Spiderman director of the trilogy Jon Watts. The project is titled Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and takes place in the post-Return of the Jedi era alongside The Mandalorian.

The Star Wars the show has been described as “a galactic take on Amblin’s classic 80s adult adventure films.” The story will follow four kids from a tiny planet, who end up lost in the Star Wars galaxy and set out on a journey to find their way home.

Judah Law stars of the series, and now we know the role he will play. According to Making Star Wars, we now know Law’s character is “a teacher and the show is like a field trip in and out of the known Star Wars Universe with The Goonies. Part instructor of Jude Law’s students, part Bran (older brother in Goonies) in the series, as they battle with pirates in unfamiliar territory. The journey takes them through harsh places and opulent places.

They even described some of the alien characters from the series based on a photo they saw. The photo showed masks for the show, “and there are many classic alien species from the original six films in this series. Saw Weequays, Baradas, Mon Cals, Rodians, you name it, the biggest hits were all there. A Weequay looked a lot like Hondo Ohnaka, but I honestly can’t confirm that the mask was his at this point, but serious Hondo vibes were felt when I saw it.

The series is also said to intersect with the Star Wars: Ahsoka series to some extent. “The show will explore the origins of The Nightsisters who are different from the witches we met on Dathomir in The Clone Wars.”

It was previously explained during the event that even though the series is about children, this will not be a children’s show. Watts said, “It stars four children, but it’s not a children’s show.” The adventure they will be on will be intense and dark.

Dave Filoni he even joked that they cut off people’s heads Star wars the battle of the clonessaying, “It’s as much a children’s show as Clone Wars. And I’m like, let’s cut people’s heads off clone wars, so I’m not sure if that’s the best fit.”

Watts added, “We loved the idea of using kids to give you a different perspective and see the galaxy through a different pair of eyes.”
