Brendan Fraser is back with everything on the big screen, and with it many revelations about what happened during the years he was away from the cinema. Now, the actor has revealed that a second ‘George of the Jungle’ movie has been planned for a long time, but he explains the reasons why the sequel that many wanted to see never happened.

In an interview for Entertainment Weekly, Brendan Fraser explained why it never came to fruition ‘George of the Jungle 2’. The ‘The Mummy’ actor said that after the unexpected success of the first part, Disney had immediately ordered the production of the sequel and although they were very interested in making it, it was the actor who turned down the offer.

The real reason for because it wasn’t there ‘George of the Jungle 2’ is that Disney did not want to pay him the salary that Brendan Fraser he was asking, “I think they wanted to do George again, but they started joking that the studio was too cheap to hire me, which isn’t false.” The actor of the canceled HBO Max film ‘Batgirl’ explains that after he turned down the offer, the company halted production.

After becoming a classic that grossed more than $170 million at the box office, Brendan Fraser says Disney approached him about doing it ‘George of the Jungle 2’: “They approached me. I don’t remember what I was doing at the time,” but he decided to prioritize other roles that were more of his interest than him, like ‘The Quiet American’ with Michael Caine.

“George de la Selva” made Brendan Fraser lose his memory

In a recent speech to Variety’s Actors on Actors, Brendan Fraser revealed that ‘George de la Selva’ caused him to lose his memory, due to the fact that the diet he was following to reach his workout was minimal in carbohydrates. Fraser recalls the day, after a day of logging in, he stopped at an ATM to withdraw money, and could not remember his PIN, due to his “brain failure” from lack of food.

But that was not the only problem that ‘George de la Selva’ caused Brendan Fraser, as he also claimed that, during the filming of the film, a technical failure occurred which accidentally caused a big traffic jam in the city: “George goes to rescue a parachutist entangled in the Golden Gate Bridge” and Disney “put a mannequin hanging with a parachute from the struts”. Act for which he has already apologized.

Now, Brendan Fraser is preparing his return to the big screen with ‘The Whale’, the new film by Darren Aronofsky which debuted on December 9 in theaters in the United States. The story follows Charlie, an overweight man who tries to regain his relationship with his daughter. The actor’s performance earned him industry recognition and some believe him to be a strong Oscar contender.
