David FincherThe next film by is an adaptation of Alessio Nolentthe graphic novel series by The murderer. The film is the protagonist Michael Fasbender And Tilda Swintonand Fincher also collaborated again Seven screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker to write the screenplay.
The story follows “a cold-blooded killer who begins to have a psychological breakdown in a world with no moral compass”. I was pretty excited about this movie because I’m a huge fan of Fincher movies. He is one of my favorite directors.
Fincher continued production The murderer March and today we have a little behind the scenes to share with you. Footage comes courtesy of Michael Fassbender: The road to Le Manswhich is a web series that follows the actor’s other passion in life.
In the footage, we see Fincher and Fassbender filming scenes from the film using LED walls to fill green screens. Fassbender also spoke about the filming and collaboration with Fincher:
“It was really nice to get back to work. The film I did before was just before the lockdown [Next Goal Wins], but that was 2019, so I was definitely ready to get back to work. With someone of David’s caliber, it was a very special opportunity for me – several locations in a five month period. What was interesting to me was taking the experience from what we’re doing on track and bringing it to set, especially with someone like David who films very precisely and everything is, you know, deal in fractions in terms of how you deliver things and movement and exactly how the frame is occupied, if you will.
“You have to step up and deliver in a period of time and David, he’s looking for perfection and to do it in one take, however long the take. It could be 40 seconds. It might be six minutes long, but in that amount of time you’re trying to do everything exactly as it should be. You’ve considered all the notes and there are a lot to digest, but the moment you’re trying to deliver those notes, you’re not thinking at all. It was a real honour. I felt like I learned a lot from him. It was full shoot, very long hours sometimes six day weeks so there was literally not enough time for me to get in the car and do any kind of workout.
Here is the description from the book:
“A solitary and cold man, methodical and free from scruples or regrets, the killer waits in the shadows, looking for his next target. Yet the longer she waits, the more he thinks he’s losing his mind, if not his calm. A brutal, bloody and stylish noir tale of a professional assassin lost in a world without a moral compass, this is a case study of a lone man, armed to the teeth and slowly losing his mind.
You can watch the footage below which starts around the 2:30 minute mark. Can’t wait to see this movie?
