Ryan Reynolds talks Christmas movie DEADPOOL which was scrapped during the Disney/Fox merger

We’re finally on our way to getting a third Dead Pool movie, and this time, star Ryan Reynolds is collaborating with Hugh Jackman as Wolverine! I know it will be worth it, but it will end up being a six year period Deadpool 2 and 3. Apparently, a third Deadpool movie was actually written and on track to be made, but then the Disney/Fox merger happened, and it was one of many projects to be scrapped.

Reynolds explained to Big Issue:

“I would like to see a song and dance number in a Dead Pool movie. Four years ago [Deadpool co-writers] Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and I wrote a Christmas movie starring Deadpool. But it got lost in the shuffle of Disney acquiring Fox and never came to fruition. Maybe one day we can make that film. It’s not a musical, but it’s a full house Dead Pool Christmas movie. So one day.

I’m sure the next movie will revive the popularity of the franchise and the studio will be more than happy to sign on for another Deadpool movie! I bet we will see that Christmas movie made one day and I can’t wait to watch it!
