Frank Herbert’s sci-fi universe still has a lot to tell and now one of the most recognizable stars of the ‘Vikings’ series joins the cast of ‘Dune: The Sisterhood’. Actor Travis Fimmel has been confirmed to be a part of the show which will premiere exclusively on the HBO Max platform and serve as a prequel to the events starring Timothée Chalamet.

According to information from Variety, Travis Fimmel joined ‘Dune: The Sisterhood’, a prequel series to the film’s story, for which filming will finally begin in December. The story will take place 10,000 years earlier than seen in Denis Villeneuve’s film, and is based on the novel by Brian Herbert (son of the original author) and Kevin J. Anderon, Sisterhood of Dune.

According to the report, Travis Fimmel will play Desmond Hart ‘Dune: The Sisterhood’, described as “a charismatic soldier with an enigmatic past, trying to gain the Emperor’s trust at the Brotherhood’s expense”. Along with Fimmel, the rest of the cast stars Emily Watson and Shirley Henderson as the Harkonnen sisters, and Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Indira Varma, Faoileann Cunningham, Chloe Lea and Aoife Hinds.

In addition to starring inVikings’, Travis Fimmel He has also been a part of another sci-fi universe like the HBO series ‘Raised By Wolves’ which was produced by Ridley Scott and created by Aaron Guzikowski. But if he’s known for anything, it’s for his role as the legendary Ragnar Lothbrok in the Michael Hirst series which can currently be seen on Netflix.

When will ‘Dune: The Sisterhood’ debut on HBO Max?

While part two of the Paul Atreides story is slated for next year, “Dune: The Sisterhood” doesn’t have a release date on HBO Max. But Collider has confirmed that taping will begin later this year, so there the prequel could be expected to arrive during the first months of 2024, if things go as planned.

On the other hand, ‘Dune: Part 2’ will arrive in November 2023 and added Florence Pugh, Austlin Butler and Christopher Walken for the sequel, who will give life to three characters who will be fundamental in the adventure of Paul Atreides. Additionally, Villeneuve confirmed that Chani, Zendaya’s role, will be much more relevant to the sequel’s story.

We will have to wait for more details on how the story of the “Dune” films will be related to the series “The Sisterhood”, which is in charge of Jon Spaihts, head of the scripts of “Prometheus”, “Passengers” and the first part of “Doctor Strange” of Marvel.
