Since the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime presented for the first time, fans have been waiting for the day when we can have duels with holograms. While we have been waiting for almost 20 years for Konami to release a way to have holograms with the game, Frenchman Yugituber SuperZouloux has brought us a lot closer. I was scrolling through Twitter the other day and Dexerto shared a video clip of SuperZouloux playing with someone I assume is a friend and when he plays a blue-eyes white dragon, a 3D model of the iconic card has sprung from the card and moved. It was a glorious time to see.
French streamers are really doing more, @Superzouloux made a 3D Yu-Gi-Oh battle possible with live animations

Sounds unbelievable, right !? Well, SuperZouloux made an entire video talking about what we saw in that short clip. Basically, she spent about 7 months learning how to do this. She made a special mat and integrated it with some other technology to project these images onto computer screens. So, gamers don’t actually see these 3D models unless they’re looking at a screen, but that doesn’t change how absolutely awesome it is! Dear Konami, please hire and work with this guy to make hologram duels a reality! It gets complicated because each Yu-Gi-Oh! the card must be chipped, a pattern must be created for each card, etc. However, I think with Konami’s R&D, they could definitely find a way to make it work.
Imagine all the old players who would be back in the game to enjoy this incredible technological change in the game! Below you can watch a video of the first entire holographic duel played by SuperZouloux.
