Jennifer Lawrence was to play Elizabeth Holmes as a director Adam McKaythe upcoming film Bad blood. But the actress ended up abandoning the project after seeing Amanda Seyfried plays Holmes in the Hulu series The abandonment.

Seyfried was fantastic in the role and for that reason Lawrence didn’t feel the need to play the character. The actress said, “I thought she was awesome. I was like, ‘Yeah, we don’t need to do this again.’ She did it. ” Seyfried won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Anthology or in a Movie for her role in 2022.

This is a bit of a surprise because actors don’t tend to drop out of roles because other actors have played the same character. But Lawrence obviously didn’t feel it and thought it would be better for her not to.

Bad blood is based on the non-fiction book by the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist John Carreyroutitled Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup. The film will tell the story of the rise and fall of Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes.

Holmes is a Stanford abandonment who founded the medical test start-up Theranos. She was attempting to develop a new invention that promised to revolutionize blood testing and, in the process, she became the world’s youngest self-taught billionaire and was heralded as the next Steve Jobs.

Two years later, his multi-billion dollar company was dissolved when it was revealed that no technology really worked, putting the health of thousands of people in grave danger. Holmes is currently facing a dozen criminal fraud charges.

McKay is writing and directing the film for Apple Studios and Legendary Pictures. Lawrence is still a producer on the project. It will be interesting to see who they choose to replace it.
