According to Deadline, co-showrunner Sonya Warfield and Just Like That executive producer Susan Fails-Hill have agreed to write and produce an adaptation of teen drama The Davenports.

Inspired by Crystal Marks’ best-selling novel of the same name, the Bridgerton-style romantic series is set in 1910 America and follows the Davenports, one of the few black families who have attained immense wealth and status thanks to the entrepreneurial efforts of former slave William Davenport. Surrounded by maids, crystal chandeliers and endless parties, their daughters Olivia and Helen and their friends search for their path and love, even where they shouldn’t be, according to the plot.
Susan Fails-Hill has been writing and producing classic television series for decades. His credits include And Just Like That, the remake of Sex and the City, the cult coming-of-age series A Different World, for which he served as showrunner at the age of 28, and Lena Waithe’s Twenties for Showtime.
Meanwhile, recently Sarah Jessica Parker hinted that Carrie Bradshaw might return.
