‘Equalizer 3’: the police seize 120 grams of cocaine from the set, belonging to a catering company

According to the Italian newspaper Il Giornale, The Italian police seized about 120 grams of cocaine from the hotel where part of the crew of the filming of the third episode of “The Equalizer: The Protector” are staying. This Tuesday, November 1, the carabinieri of the Amalfi Company raided the rooms of the accommodation and around the marine area where the filming of ‘Equalizer 3’, directed by Antoine Fuqua and always with Denzel Washington, is underway.

The agents ended up finding more than 100 grams of the drug in one of the bedrooms and two men, both employees of the film’s catering company and over 30 years old, they were arrested and interrogated, accused of possession of drugs with the intent of trafficking. They were placed under house arrest at the Maiori hotel before being brought to justice. A third employee of the catering company was also in possession of a small amount of cocaine and his license was revoked.

It all started when the head of the catering service for the set of ‘Equalizer 3’ died suddenly of a heart attack on Monday evening, October 31st, around 9pm, outside a pub. Several packages of cocaine were found in his clothes, which aroused police suspicion. His wife, present at the time of the heart attack, assured investigators that her 55-year-old husband had heart disease. The production is currently in its fourth week of filming on the Amalfi Coast in Campania, assisted by the local company Garbo Produzioni.

The film

Although little or nothing is known about its plot, “Equalizer 3” is directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by Richard Wenk (“Protected”). Denzel Washington reprises the character of Robert McCally and Dakota Fanning has joined the cast. Both performers will meet on screen 20 years after ‘The Fire of Vengeance’. We will also see the Italian Gaia Scodellaro (“You, me and the apocalypse”), David Denman and Sonia Ammar. The film will be released in theaters on September 1, 2023.
