On 4 November ’13 exorcisms’, Jacobo Martínez’s debut film based on several cases of exorcisms recently made in our country, will be released in theaters. The film crew analyzes this phenomenon which is hard to believe is still in effect, but as Cristina Castaño explains: “In this world we live in, there are exorcisms and there are people who dedicate themselves to it”.
In the film, the expert in the elimination of demonic possessions is Father Olmedo, the character of the great José Sacristán. The actor plays one of the fifteen priests authorized by the Vatican to perform exorcisms. Your mission? Free Laura Villegas (María Romanillos) from the demon she hides inside after a night of spiritism on All Saints’ Eve.
More than a horror movie
The manager emphasizes this “90-99% of the things that happen in this film are scientifically probable, they can happen”. In addition to making sure we will be scared, Urko Olazabal assures us of this ’13 exorcisms’ has “an emotional background” which is not usually seen in films of this type.

’13 Exorcisms’ completes the cast with Ruth Díaz, Pablo Revuelta, Silma López, Daniel Arias, Alícia Falcó and Uri Guitart. The screenplay is written by Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, David Orea, Salvador S. Molina and Carlos Ruano. The new film of the team of ‘Malasaña 32’ premiered in theaters on November 4th.
