Warner Bros. has released a red band trailer for the upcoming film House party, which is inspired by the homonymous classic comedy of the 90s. That original movie, which starred Christopher Reid, Robin Harris, Martin LawrenceAnd Tisha Campbell, it was a lot of fun! It looks like this remake makes a good effort to match that energy.
The new film comes from the director calmwho is making her directorial debut, and acting Tosin Cole, Jacob Latimora, Karen Obilom, DC Young FlyAnd Scott Mescudi. It was also produced by LeBron James which plays a role in the story, as it is her house that the party will be organized.
Here is the synopsis:
Aspiring club promoters and best friends Damon (Tosin Cole) and Kevin (Jacob Latimore) can barely keep things together. Moneyless, unfortunate, and on the verge of losing roofs over their heads – and just fired from their cheap jobs as house cleaners – the couple need a huge boon to make their problems go away. In a ‘what the hell?’ they move, they decide to host the party of the year in an exclusive building, the place of their last cleaning job, which seems to belong to none other than LeBron James. No permission? No problem. What could go wrong? How about a time-traveling DJ, unreliable security, a runaway guest list, a borrowed Lamborghini, angry rival promoters, a stolen championship ring, escalating property damage, and an angry koala? But also an outrageous rush filled with double-take cameos and timeless throwback songs, R-rated comedy + two friends worth cheering for … you have to see to believe.
Warner Bros will release House party in cinemas on January 13, 2023.
