The last episode of She-Hulk: lawyer characterized the return of Charlie Cox like Daredevil, and it was fun to see him in action again, this time completely in the MCU!
There was a scene in this most recent episode where Daredevil is in a hallway fighting bad guys and there comes a point where he is confronted by a whole bunch of them. I was on the edge of my seat and excitedly expected to see another tough Daredevil corridor fight scene! But then She-Hulk ran into them and that was the end.
I’m not going to lie, I was a little disappointed that Daredevil didn’t have that moment, but … She-Hulk writer Jessica Gao explain why. In a recent interview with Marvel, he explained why they subverted Daredevils’ iconic Hallway fight scene by saying:
“We have to keep reminding people that this is Jen’s show, this is She-Hulk’s show. Everything in the show is how we can subvert a trope or defy expectations or ground something in a funny reality. the ethics of the show. So obviously, it was only natural for this show, being so meta, that we would recognize and mock the classic Daredevil corridor fight. But then, of course, we would have to downplay it with our own girl, She-Hulk. “
I understand. This is the She-Hulk show, but I was a little disappointed. Either way, this was one of my favorite episodes on the show. Not only with Daredevil, but also with the general narrative arc She-Hulk is going. This was a difficult show for me to get into, but I’m curious to see how it ends up.
I’m also super excited about Daredevil’s future in the MCU he’ll appear in Echo before its 18 episodes Daredevil: Born again series. I really want that series to be as hardcore, gritty and tough as the Netflix show!
