Actress Emma Caulfieldknown for her roles in Beverly Hills, 90210, Polyclinic, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Once upon a timeAnd Wanda Vision, revealed he has multiple sclerosis in a new interview with Vanity Fair. She also confirmed her return to the Wanda Vision universe inside Kathryn Hahnthe next Marvel series Agatha: Coven of Chaos which is headed to Disney +.
He spoke about his condition, explaining:
“Once upon a time there was zero health problems. In 2010 I was working on it [executive producer] by Marti Noxon Gigantic, and before starting that work, I woke up one morning and on the left side of my face it looked like there were a million ants crawling on it. That feeling when you’re sitting in one position for too long? … The feeling has gone and is returning like a rush of blood. Then it just went, I wouldn’t say completely numb, because I could still scratch it and feel my nails. But it was extremely boring. I went to my acupuncturist and he said, ‘I don’t know, man. Maybe you have Bell’s palsy? ‘”
At the insistence of his acupuncturist, Caulfield went to a neurologist for an MRI. She got the call confirming her diagnosis of her MS when she returned to the set.
“I was five minutes late or something. And he said, ‘You have MS.’ That’s right. It was like an out-of-body experience. I was like, “No, that’s not possible.” I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’ He was very concrete about it. ‘Well, you can get a second opinion …’ It was literally kind of a nightmare … It turned out to be something important. Then I thought, ‘I have to go to work now.’ What I do?”
Caulfield promised he feels “good right now,” saying, “Honestly, my attitude isn’t crumbling out of fear of ‘what if’ or ‘what he can’ or ‘what he has’ for other people. to move on. “
After starring in four episodes of Wanda Vision as Sarah Proctor (who appears in Wanda Maximoff’s black and white fantasy world as her neighbor Dottie Jones) alongside Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, Caulfield will reprise her role in Hahn’s spin-off series focusing on her evil witch, Agatha Harkness.
It’s awful to hear that he’s facing such a difficult diagnosis, but it’s good to know he’ll be back for Agatha: Coven of Chaoswill debut on Disney + in 2023.
