
In a major bidding war, 20th Century Studios won the rights to adapt the next graphic novel, The night of the ghoul, in a movie. The comic is from the winning author of Eisner and Harvey Scott Snyder and illustrator Francesco Francavilla. Rob the wild he will direct, with Shawn Levy producing, Dan Levine and Dan Cohen of 21 Laps.
This brings together the studio, director and producers of The boogeyman, the adaptation of the Stephen King novel that will be released on the 20th by Disney next year. Snyder and Francavilla will be executive producers.
The story follows a father and son examining the true story behind a long-lost horror movie from the golden age of monster movies. But as they dig deeper, they risk unleashing just what the supposedly destroyed film was intended to keep hidden.
The first issue was out in print by Dark Horse Comics this week on Wednesday 5 October.
