Marvel fans are looking forward to this season of fears, like the Halloween special “Werewolf at night”, played by Gael García Bernal, is about to be released and has left everyone shocked with the images and the trailer that have been revealed. The film promises to be completely different from the rest of the MCUopening the field to supernatural themes.

It will premiere on October 7th through Disney +. Joining Bernal will be the talent of Laura Donnelly, Harriet Sansom Harris, Eugene Bondurant and Kirk R. Thatcher. The tape has already had its first reactions, highlighting it as a unique and necessary film that stands out by far within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This Halloween special differs, among other things, by being framed in the horror genre, with a treatment of violence and blood much more explicit than other MCU productions. The film takes as its main reference the classic horror films, in particular from the British production house Hammer in the 60s.

Also, as revealed by director Michael Giachino, the format of ‘Werewolf by Night’ is similar to series like ‘The Twilight Zone’, that is, it’s a unique story that ends in a single episodeand that it has no direct connection to any other films in the franchise, so it can be enjoyed without having seen any other Marvel Studios film.

But that doesn’t mean it has no connection with the multiverse, and an example of this is that inside the trailer we can see the character known as the MCU for the first time in the MCU. Man thingwho in the comics is the Guardian of the Multiverse, but we don’t know exactly how all of this will fit into the Marvel timeline.

On the other hand, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, said that this special will be of great importance for the future of the MCU, as it will explore a world and a series of characters, completely new to the multiverse. This is exactly all about the world of the supernatural, which has gradually become present within the franchise.

Demons, monsters and supernatural creatures make their way into the MCU

As Kevin Feige points out, Marvel Studios are paving the way for other worlds within the multiverse, since it’s not just “Werewolf by Night” that brings the monsters to the screen, but we also have to mention the next movie. ‘Lama’ for 2023, which is about a half-vampire, half-human character who uses his skills to hunt vampires.

Added to this, in the series “Knight of the moon”We are briefly introduced to the monsters, when Arthur Harrow summons the jackals to terrorize Steven Grant and Marc Spector. Everything therefore seems to indicate that for these new stages of the franchise we can see a greater involvement of supernatural entities within the MCU.
