One of Batman’s enemies, who has also taken the lead in many of his stories, is the Joker, a clown who started out as a villain in cartoons and has now turned into a sociopath or a seriously mentally ill man. However, Barry Keoghan states that his version of the Clown of Crime in “The Batman” will be very different from his counterparts.

In the cinema, Joaquin Phoenix, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto and Cesar Romero are some of the actors who gave life to the Joker and who are completely different from each other. But all are united by chaos, by a violent and almost non-existent past. For ‘Batman’, Barry Keoghan and director Matt Reeves, have chosen to present a Joker who has already met the Dark Knight in the past and who has his own conflicts.

In a recent interview for GQ, Barry Keoghan explained how his version of the Joker is different from the othersa character who will empathize with the audience as he reveals how he got that unsightly look that might be seen at the end of the Robert Pattinson movie: “This version of the Joker is slightly charming and feels a little hurt.”

Keoghan states, “I wanted there to be some kind of human being behind the makeup. I want people to identify with him … to know this facade he wears. The character is a broken boy”. And is that, after the release of “The Batman”, Warner posted a canceled scene where Batman met the Joker in Arkham Asylum, and the character’s appearance was shown, full of scars all over his face, and his characteristic laugh.

Will the Joker appear in “The Batman 2”?

At the moment, both ‘The Batman 2’ and the appearance of Barry Keoghan’s Joker have not been confirmed by Warner Bros or DC Comics, however, the actor says he is willing to return to his role if the story continues. as soon as that call comes, I’m there, man, I’m ready. “

In the same interview, Keoghan mentioned that at first he didn’t plan to be the Joker, he even sent Warner a video of his audition for the role of the Riddler, where he could be seen as the villain in the comics. Months passed, but he never received a response, until his manager contacted him to tell him that he would be in “The Batman”, but as the Joker.

Barry Keoghan’s presence in “The Batman” has been kept secret for a long time, even leaked photos from the recording set where he was seen dressed as a Gotham cop. Which confirmed the production that it was a montage created to distract the leakers from his real role in the tape, the Joker.
