Rust, starring Alec Baldwin, will continue filming in January. Reported by Variety. Recall that a year ago, cameraman Galina Hutchins died on the site as a result of an accident. It was recently learned that Rust Movie Productions has entered into a deal with Galina’s husband, Matthew Hutchins. Baldwin’s legal actions were denied. As part of the deal, Matthew will serve as executive producer on the film. We have prepared a selection of movies for you that turned into a real nightmare.
“Rosemary’s Baby” (1968)
They say it’s Roman Polanski’s movie about a pregnant woman who is the victim of an evil cult that gets her in trouble. A year after the premiere, it was his wife, Sharon Tate, who was brutally murdered in the eighth month of her pregnancy: the actress and her first child died from multiple stab wounds by Charles Manson’s “Family”.
Also, during filming, the producer of the film, William Castle, received a letter from an anonymous person with the message that he would die from a long and painful illness (he soon fell really ill), another producer suffered a stroke. On the way home, the composer died of a cerebral hematoma and the entire staff suffered severe food poisoning.
“Omen” (1976)
One of the most famous horror movies whose history is shrouded in mysterious events. Thus, the director of the film, Richard Donner, was in a car accident on the first day of filming and almost died during a terrorist attack in one of the London hotels of Gregory Peck, the performer of the role of the adoptive father. he miraculously survived the flight (his plane was struck by lightning) and then escaped death again on his way to Israel: at the last moment he canceled the flight due to a busy schedule and the plane he was supposed to fly crashed with all the passengers.
“The Devil” (1973)
Mysticism, which goes far beyond the frame, is one of the best horror films of our time. For example, the fire on the set in New York absolutely burned the entire landscape, except for the bed of a girl possessed by the devil (after which a priest was invited to the set), and on the Day of Judgment. premiere, lightning struck the roof of an old church located near the cinema.
But that’s not the worst: at least eight people died during filming under mysterious circumstances (the causes were often cited as colds, injuries, and acts of violence). And the son of the actor who voiced the demon committed suicide after killing his wife and daughter.
“Stalker” (1979)
One of the most important works of Andrei Tarkovsky is based on the story “Roadside Picnic” by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky, whose problems began from the very beginning. Filming was delayed several times: first, the necessary site was found near the city of Isfara in Tajikistan, but in 1977 the city was destroyed by an earthquake, then everything was moved to Estonia, and the site turned about 25 kilometers from Tallinn. The area of the Yagola River is not far from the destroyed power station. They say that this destroyed the director himself and almost the entire film crew.
“They breathed in wastewater treatment plants – that’s what polluted air is,” futurologist Alexander Kononov later said.
One way or another, but after the premiere of “Stalker” its creators and heroes fell ill with lung cancer: Andrei Tarkovsky himself, the performers of the roles of his wife Larisa Tarkovskaya, Alexander Kaidanovsky and Anatoly Solonitsyn died from him.
“Poltergeist” (1982)
The movie got a bad reputation and fans of the famous horror movie are still sure that the whole crew and cast are cursed by the spirits of the dead! The fact is that real human bones were used for filming – they were cheaper than mannequins made of plastic and rubber.
The trouble started with Dominique Dunn (Dana Freeling), who was killed by a rejected fan on October 30, 1982, then on January 29, 1988, 12-year-old Heather Michelle O’Rourke died in a children’s hospital from a faulty cause. Diagnosis, a little later, actor Lou Perry died as a serial killer, Julian Beck passed away from stomach cancer, and Will Simpson also died.
“The Raven” (1994)
The box office success of the movie brought with it a sad event on the set. In the final scene, Brandon Lee (Bruce Lee’s son) was mortally wounded: a plug stuck in the pistol and no one noticed, when fired with an empty cartridge, flew out and hit the actor in the stomach. He died in hospital 12 hours later at the age of 28.
“Emily Rose’s Six Demons” (2005)

This story may not be the scariest, but it also raises a lot of questions. That’s why Jennifer Carpenter said that every night during filming in her room, the radio turned itself on and played the same song loudly: “I was once woken up in the middle of the night by the radio in my room. The song ‘Alive’ was playing loud and it was really creepy.”
According to her, the same thing happened to her co-star Laura Lynn, but instead of the radio, the television was turned on in her room.
“Secrets of the Old Hotel” (2011)
The film crew had to live with a dubious reputation at the Yankee Pedlar Inn for more than two weeks. The director of the movie, Ti West, said that the doors of the rooms constantly open and close on their own, and the televisions behave the same – so he has to sleep with the lights on all the time. And Mystery star Sarah Paxton later shared that she wakes up every night feeling like someone is watching her!
“Masters of Salem” (2012)
Filming of the thriller took place at “Linda Vista,” one of the already notorious abandoned hospitals in Los Angeles, and the cast also complained of a “scary and creepy feeling” while in the building. Costume designer Jennifer Spence said: “We were on the second floor and one of the actresses suddenly knocked me off my feet, and she was terrified. The girl claimed someone was in one of the rooms and begged me to go with her. I believe in these things and I was really scared.”
In addition, the doctor’s call signal itself was repeatedly turned on in the hospital: “Imagine a completely empty building without doctors or patients for a long time, and then you hear the sound signal used to call doctors.”
