Think about what you will do David O. Russell and his checkered past, but the boy is a talented filmmaker who knows how to tell a great story. That’s why the actors keep wanting to work with him! He has managed to assemble an incredible cast for his latest film Amsterdam driven by Christian Bale, Margot RobbieAnd John David Washingtonand they all delivered some of the best performances of their careers.
Amsterdam it’s an incredibly well done movie that captivated me from start to finish. I loved the story and the characters that filled it were developed to perfection. Russell has made some great films throughout his career, but this is arguably one of the funniest of him. It’s not his best film as a director, but I certainly enjoyed the journey the film takes us on.
The story is set in the 1930s and follows three friends who witness a murder. They become the suspects and, in an attempt to clear their names, they uncover one of the most outrageous plots in American history and set out on a mission to stop it.
Some of the things that made this film so damn fun were the quick and witty dialogue along with the unique and wild situations the characters found themselves in as the story unfolded. It was a pretty crazy adventure.
This movie wouldn’t be as great as it was without the talented cast of actors who filled it. While they all gave stellar performances, Christian Bale is the one who stole the show. He gave a perfect performance. In fact, I think he’s one of the best of his career. Bale has had some amazing performances throughout his career, but I really liked this character he played! He was a really lovely character that audiences can cheer on.
