Teaser trailer for the film adaptation of Tubi HOT TAKE: THE DEPP / HEARD TRIAL

A teaser trailer was released for the film Hot Take: The Depp / Heard Trial, which is directed to the free streaming service Tubi. It is obviously based on the libel trial heard around the world that saw actors Johnny Depp And Amber felt opposed each other while defending himself from his claims of abuse.

The film is the protagonist Marco Hapka (Parallel, Days of our lives) like Depp e Megan Davis (Alone in the dark) as heard, as well as Melissa Marty (Station 19) such as Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez e Mary Carrig (Law & Order True Crime) as Elaine Bredehoft, Heard’s attorney.

Take hot follows the relationship of Depp and Heard that led to the two-month libel trial included, which the Tubi trailer declares “the most watched trial of the year”. The jury found Heard defamed Depp by alluding to domestic violence allegations against him in a December 2018 editorial, while the jury also found Depp responsible for a defamatory statement made about Heard by his lawyer.

Tubi accelerated production on the film with Fox Entertainment’s MarVista Entertainment “to capture a timely version of a story that has become part of the cultural zeitgeist, painting a unique picture of what millions have seen act in the headlines during the ‘summer,’ according to Adam Lewinson, Tubi’s chief content officer.

Take hot is written by Guy Nicolucci (The daily show) and directed by Sara Lohman (Secrets in the woods). Check out the trailer below and watch Hot Take: The Depp / Heard Trial this week, on Tubi on Friday 30 September.
