
HBO’s anthology drama series True detective is back on our way for a fourth season, and they’ve cast five actors to star in the upcoming story, including John Hawkes (Deadwood, Winter bone), Christopher Eccleston (Doctor who, Leftovers), Fiona Shaw (Kill Eve, Harry Potter franchising), Finn Bennett (Dominates, I Never), And Anna Lambè (Three Pines, Cheater). They join the previously announced series protagonists Jodie Foster And Kali Reis.
Officially titled True Detective: Night Countrythe official description of the new season reads as follows:
“When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the six men running the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) must face the darkness they carry and delve into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.
Hawkes will play Hank Prior, described as “a police officer with old grudges hiding under a quiet surface”. Eccleston will play Ted Corsaro, “the regional police chief and a political animal with a long history that binds him to Liz Danvers”. Shaw will appear as Rose Aguineau, “a survivor with a past full of secrets”. Bennett will play Peter Prior, “Liz Danvers’ protégé and apprentice, for better or for worse”. Lambe joins Kayla Malee, “a young nurse with little patience for anyone who has problems with her family”.
True Detective: Night Country is currently in pre-production. Issa Lopez is a screenwriter, director, executive producer and showrunner. Foster is an executive producer in addition to acting.
