On September 21, Netflix premiered its new miniseries, “Dahmer”. The title, based on real events and created by Ryan Murphy, follows the life of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, who between 1978 and 1991 killed 17 men (adults and children), all gay or African American.. Now, one of the victims of the infamous psychopath has shown her anger towards Netflix for the production of the series.

Although the series has several shocking scenes, One of them went particularly viral featuring Rita Isbell, played by DaShawn Barnes, during the 1992 trial in which the murder of Errol Lindsey, her 19-year-old brother, was tried.. The moment has been compared to the real images of that event, where you can see the poor sister completely out of her mind and having to be restrained by those present in order not to come to blows with the well-known “Monster of Milwaukee”.

The scene provoked the anger of Lindsey’s cousin, who was strangled to death after Dahmer’s allegedly horrendous experiment to keep him alive in a zombie-like state failed., piercing his head and pouring hydrochloric acid into it. The relative has shown his discontent with Netflix for the production of ‘Dahmer’ via his Twitter account.
I’m not telling anyone what to watch, I know the real crime media is huge, but if you’re really curious about the victims, my family (the Isbells) are pissed off about this show. He’s re-traumatizing again and again, and for what? How many films / shows / documentaries do we need? https://t.co/CRQjXWAvjx

“I’m not telling anyone what to watch, I know that real-life crime productions are huge now, but If you’re really curious about the victims, my family (the Isbells) are pissed off at this show. It’s re-traumatizing yourself over and over again, and for what? How many films, series and documentaries do we need?”Eric wrote referring to the number of Dahmer-based productions that have already been made, such as ‘My Friend Dahmer’ in 2017. He also added another tweet: “Recreating my cousin who had an emotional breakdown during the trial in front of the man who tortured and killed her brother is WILD”. Eventually, through an Instagram story, Eric made it clear “I will not watch the miniseries”.
Statement from within the cast
‘Dahmer’ is played by Evan Peters, who managed to win his first Emmy after his acclaimed work on ‘Mare of Easttown’. For its part, even the miniseries has Shaun Brown puts himself in the shoes of Tracy Edwards, the sole survivor of the Dahmer crimes he successfully escaped and played a vital role in convicting the killer. This is why the actor of the ‘American Gigolo’ series wanted to talk on his Twitter account about the controversy over Netflix’s alleged lack of respect for the family of the victims.

“It is very strange to receive attention for another person’s misery. Especially on a global scale. I am not naive, it is a fact that murder and crime based on true events are sensational. However, I ask you to remember while watching this series that these men were children, best friends, cousins, uncles and had dreams, hopes and goals that never came true. I have so much love for Tracy Edwards and I hope that thanks to my performance you will too.. I hope you have love for all the victims and maybe over time you will have more love for each other. “Brown wrote.
‘Dahmer’ consists of a total of 10 episodesand also includes Niecy Nash (“Guess Who”), Penelope Ann Miller (“The Freshman”), Colin Ford (“A Place to Dream”) and Richard Jenkins (“The Shape of Water”), among others.
