Monday 26 September begins a new era in “The Dragon’s House”. The HBO Max series welcomes Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke, the new Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower, in its sixth episode. The prequel to ‘Game of Thrones’ marks an important time jump of ten years that forces us to say goodbye to Milly Alcock and Emily Carey, who in just five chapters have managed to win the hearts of fans.

Because we know the change is going to be pretty traumatic, although we wish the newest Rhaenyra and Alicent good luck, Matt Smith, who plays Daemon Targaryen, comes with good news: we may not have to experience another cast change like this in the future of the series. As the Happy Sad Confused podcast commented, he doesn’t expect a new time jump in the coming seasons: “Once we make the leap, that’s it. I’m pretty sure there won’t be huge time jumps anymore, particularly in the next and next season.”.

To prepare for the time jump, HBO released a clip of the sixth chapter in which we see Rhaenyra immediately after giving birth. Laenor Velaryon, her husband, now played by John Macmillan, accompanies her to find Alicent because the queen wants to see her baby. Laenor asks if the birth was painful and tells her that she was once hit by a pike, which is definitely what she Rhaenyra wanted to hear at the time.

“The House of the Dragon” will premiere Chapter 6 on HBO Max at dawn on Monday, September 26. The first season of the series adapting George RR Martin’s novel ‘Fire and Blood’ will consist of ten episodes in all.
