Disney + launches the Italian drama series True Crime THIS IS NOT HOLLYWOOD – AVETRANA in production

Disney + has launched the real Italian crime drama This is not Hollywood – Avetrana in production in Puglia. The four-part series (originally titled Avetrana – This is not Hollywood) “Is based on the true story of Sarah Scazzi’s death and the massive response from the media. Each 80-minute episode takes the point of view of one of the main protagonists of the story: Sarah, Sabrina, Michele and Cosima, played by Federica Pala, Giulia Perulli, Paolo De Vita And Vanessa Scalerarespectively.”

Imma Villa, Anna Ferzetti And Giancarlo Commare they were also chosen for key roles in the show, based on the book by Carmine Gazzanni and Flavia Piccinni Sarah: The girl from Avetrana.

The synopsis of the series reads:

“On August 26, 2010, in Avetrana, a village on the edge of Salento, a holiday destination, a girl leaves the house to never return. Her name is Sarah Scazzi, she is 15 years old. The whole town is in turmoil, especially her cousin Sabrina, a beautician who waits for her in her house in Via Deledda to go to the beach in the afternoon. But while everyone is looking for her, Sarah has disappeared into the void, buried at the bottom of a well where she will be found 42 days after her disappearance, in what will become a true horror show with intimate secrets and unspoken grudges.
