BOOM! Studios revealed a first look at the new original graphic memoir I am still alive. Written by Roberto Saviano with art Asaf Hanukathe story details Saviano’s personal account of his 15 years of working to expose the Italian mafia.
When Saviano wrote Gomorrah, he exposed the internal mechanisms of the Neapolitan mafia that resulted in investigations into real-world corruption. Saviano is still paying the price of exposing them with death threats and the need for armed guards wherever he goes.
I am still alive he will document Saviano’s time in Naples by witnessing the brutality of the mafia through his daily life after reporting their crimes. I don’t like mafia stories, but given his vast experience, it should be interesting to see Saviano’s personal memories come to life in the form of graphic novels.
I am still alive will be available on 5 October 2022 in comic shops and on 11 October 2022 in bookstores around the world as well as digitally.
