The first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The rings of power it came out last week and it’s a damn good show! I posted a review of it last week and the trolls came out in full force to take down the series. Hate made me laugh and also a little sad that some people are not willing to have fun and enjoy great storytelling.
I’ve already seen the first two episodes three times and each time it was a wonderful visual experience. It’s a simply stunning series and is shaping up to be one of the best fantasy shows ever made.
But the trolls are out there doing their thing, trying to take down and hurt something beautiful. All I can say is not to listen to the hate. Watch the show and judge for yourself.
In an effort to fight the trolls, Amazon has introduced a new weapon … delays. Around the time Amazon released its A league of its own series, have quietly introduced a new 72-hour delay for all user reviews posted on Prime Video. It is explained that each “criticism is then evaluated to determine if it is genuine or a fake created by a bot, a troll or another race of digital goblins.”
If there are people who really don’t like this show and seriously think it’s as bad as they say it is, it makes me worry that people have lost touch with the look of a great, well-told story. It also saddens me that they can’t enjoy a thing of sheer greatness like this.
I have also noticed that some websites are turning off the comment sections on theirs Power rings articles. I will not do this here on GeekTyrant. So, I’m sure they will continue to flood our comments. I’m sure there will be some comments on this post that tell you how awful the series is. But don’t believe it.
I’ve been a fan of Tolkien’s work ever since I was a kid and have been waiting for something like this to come for a long time. It’s here, and it’s great!
