
Netflix will open the largest film studio in all of Latin America in Ecatepec – Agencia (EFE)
The largest company in the streaming world today remains committed to investing in the talent of Mexico. Now, Netflix has just announced that it will build the largest film studio in all of Latin America and that it will be based in Ecatepec, in the State of Mexico.
According to information from La Jornada, the president of the municipality of Ecatepec, Fernando Vilchis Contreras, confirmed that Netflix plans to build a film studio in the state of Mexicowhich will have an initial investment of 90 million pesos for the construction, built by Casa Azul, and the company.
The the new Netflix film studio will be located in the municipality of Ecatepecin the Jardines de Cerro Gordo district, as revealed by the president of the city, during the awards ceremony of the International Film and Music Festival in Mexico, and who during the event said: “It is a sign of the confidence that investors have in the locality.
We were a very abandoned municipality that only served political interests, that’s why we realize that a lot of things can be achieved because today the people of the state of Mexico have in mind the municipality of Ecatepec, where there are good people, honest people, who work the people”.
This announcement joins various Netflix projects in Mexico, such as Elisa Miller’s “Hurricane Season”, “Que viva México”, the new film by director Luis Estrada, and “Noise by Natalie Beristáin”. But they are not the only ones, because the adaptation of ‘Pedro Páramo’ with Rodrigo Prieto and ‘La gran seduccion’ with Yalitza Aparicio are also in development.
How is the construction of the new Netflix film studio going?
