It was one of six animated projects that were eliminated. Others include Merry Little Batman, The Day The Earth Exploded: A Looney Toons Movie, Bye Bye Bunny: A Looney Toons Musical, I Did It For The Holidays: A Steve Urkel StoryAnd The Incredible World of Gumball: The Movie.
Acclaimed comic book writer Ed Brubaker he was also working on the series, whose first season would consist of 10 episodes.
Timm previously talked about the show sharing that it is “more Batman: the animated series from Batman: the animated seriesThe show will capture what Timm was originally trying to do with the original animated series, saying, “It kind of goes back to the original principles of the show that we originally invented in the early 1990s. There were some limitations on what we could do in the show. terms of adult content; in terms of violence and adult themes. ” He went on to say, “My idea is basically to say, ‘OK, it’s 1990 again, I can do what I want to do this time and I have JJ and Matt backing me up.”
Abrams said so Batman: Hooded Crusader“It’s really an incredibly complex psychological story about someone who, in a way, needs to be redeemed, and that’s kind of what this first season is about at least.”
Brubaker said, “Their take on the show, with a slightly more pulpy take on the character and a new way of looking at the world of Gotham, set in the past but seen through a modern lens has really sold me, and so far every part of it. it was a blast to work on. I can’t wait for the rest of the world to see what we’ve been building over the past few months in the writers room. All I can say is that it’s not what anyone expects … but in a positive sense “.
The show would focus on a version of Batman who is completely alone on his journey. Reeves explained: “The Justice League doesn’t exist. It doesn’t exist. There are no other superheroes. It’s Batman. You’re watching this lone figure swimming through Gotham’s cesspool. It’s Batman, alone.”
It has also been explained that Batman won’t have all of his gadgets as the show takes place before he starts investing money in that stuff. “So initially it’s going to be very low-tech. You know, as he develops as a character, we’re going to start presenting those gadgets and the audience will be able to see how he developed the Batmobile using different prototypes. That’s part of the fun of this series is that we find it by finding out. these things that, [in] most of the other Batman series were already there. “
It is a shame that this show is not made and that we will never see what it could have been. This really sucks me.
