Noah Hawley (Legion, Fargo) has developed a new Alien series for FX in recent years and is almost ready to go into production. Chief FX John Landgraf recently shared at the TCA panel (via Deadline), that the Alien filming for the series will officially begin in 2023.
Landgraf shared that Hawley turned in all the scripts AlienIt’s the first season, but we don’t know how many episodes it will involve. Before Hawley starts filming the series, she will be working on season five of Fargoof which he is the showrunner.
The story is said to be set “not too far into our future, it is the first Alien set on Earth, and by blending both the timeless horror of the first Alien film with the non-stop action of the second, it will be a race to go. frightening thrill that will make people go back to their places. “
Hawley also talked about the series, saying, “It’s about how we are trapped between the primal past and the artificial intelligence of our future, where both [are] trying to kill us. It is set on the Earth of the future. Right now, I describe it as Edison versus Westinghouse versus Tesla. Someone will monopolize electricity. We just don’t know what it is. “
He went on to say, “It’s a story also set on Earth. Alien stories are always trapped … Trapped in a prison, trapped in a spaceship. I thought it would be interesting to open it up a bit so that the stakes of “What if you can’t contain it?” they are more immediate ”.
Also, Sigourney WeaverEllen Ripley will not be involved in this story. Regardless, Hawley is a great storyteller and I can’t wait to see what she has planned for the series.
Hawley’s series isn’t the only big one Alien project under development. Faith Alvarez (evil Dead) is set to write and direct a new one Alien film, with Ridley Scott to produce.
