Fantastic featurette for THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER – “Stories from the Legendarium”

As a big fan of JRR Tolkien’s Middle-earth stories, I couldn’t be more excited about Amazon’s epic fantasy series, The Lord of the Rings: The rings of power. I think this show is damn amazing and today we have a fantastic new featurette to watch called “Stories from the Legendarium”.

In the video, co-showrunner Patrick McKay says, “The Second Age is the great unfilmed story in Tolkien’s entire legendarium, with the forging of the rings and the Last Covenant, and we felt that that was the story that deserved to be told.”

Morfydd Clark he went on to discuss the story, explaining that Galadriel, the lady of Lórien at the time of The Lord of the Ringsis on a mission: “Galadriel has been searching for over 1,000 years scouring Middle-earth in search of this elusive, unknown and very real evil. In the end, he knows that this danger exists, this evil must be stopped.”

JD Payne adds that “From the beginning, we knew she couldn’t do it alone, every good research needs a scholarship.” It is also explained that the scope of the show will be huge! It certainly looks huge!

In addition to the interviews, the featurette also features stunning footage from the series and some behind-the-scenes stuff fans will dig into.

The Lord of the Rings: The rings of power “Is set thousands of years before the events of JRR Tolkien The Hobbit And The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era where great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the thinnest threads and the greatest villain to ever come out of the pen by Tolkien threatened to cover the whole world in darkness. Begun in a period of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they face the much-feared resurgence of evil in Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elven capital Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the farthest corners of the map, these kingdoms and characters carve out legacies that will survive long after they’re gone. “

The series will premiere on Prime Video on September 2, 2022. Enjoy the new featurette!
