‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’: Ben Affleck will return as Batman in the sequel, confirmed by Jason Momoa

This we did not expect. Jason Momoa posted a photo on Instagram sharing a laugh with Ben Affleck while filming “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” because … Ben Affleck returns as Bruce Wayne! “Bruce and Arthur REUNITED. I love you and I miss you, Ben. The Warner Bros. tours have explored the sets well. We got caught on set. Great stuff coming up for ‘Aquaman’. All my aloha.” wrote the actor in the post.

No further details have been released about Batffleck’s appearance in the “Aquaman” sequel, but Affleck and his retirement as Bruce Wayne are proving to be as incredible as Steven Soderbergh’s retirement. The actor said in 2019 that he was hanging Batman’s cape, but it was ultimately confirmed that he would appear again as Batman in “The Flash.”. We later saw him again in “Zack Snyder’s Justice League”, although it was still footage recorded for the 2017 film. But his presence in the DC universe went way beyond what the actor himself expected.

Why is he included in “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” at this point? It’s still hard to guess, but the DC universe now has a Bruce Waynes surplus. In addition to Affleck we have Robert Pattinson succeeding with ‘The Batman’, which will have a sequel. Michael Keaton, for his part, will not only return for a starring appearance in “The Flash”, we will also see him in the movie “Batgirl” with Leslie Grace.

“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” returns with James Wan as director, with a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. In addition to Momoa, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Dolph Lundgren, Nicole Kidman, Randall Park, Temuera Morrison and Amber Heard also return, with additions such as Pilou Asbæk and Indya Moore. It remains to be seen whether Heard’s lost trial against Johnny Depp and the entire media circus that arose around him meant some sort of change in the weight of Heard’s role as Mera in the film.

The “Aquaman” sequel will hit theaters on March 17, 2023. “The Flash” still has its premiere scheduled for June 23, 2023.
