John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds’ fantasy comedy film project gets a new title and new release date

A quiet place director and star John Krasinski is set to direct Ryan Reynolds in an upcoming fantasy comedy for Paramount Pictures titled Self. The film was originally announced under the title Imaginary friends.

The film was supposed to be released in theaters on November 17, 2023, but will now be released in theaters on May 24, 2024.

The story of the film tells the story of a man “who can see and talk to people’s imaginary friends, making friends with those who have been forgotten or discarded. However, some imaginary friends, devoid of love and friendship, turn to the dark side and it is up to Reynolds’ character to save the world from those who become evil. ”

I absolutely love this concept of story and it will be interesting to see how that story turns out. In addition to directing, Krasinski also wrote and acted the film. Self even stars Phoebe Waller-Ponte (Flea Bag, Indiana Jones 5), Cailey Fleming (The walking deadMarvel Loki), Louis Gossett Jr. (Watchmen, The color purple), Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter, Killing Eve), Alan S. Kim (Minari, Awkwafina is Nora from Queens), as well as Krasinski’s ex The office co-star Steve Carell.

Paramount’s release was also announced A quiet place the prequel was moved from September 22, 2023 to spring 2024. That movie is called A quiet place: the first day, and is directed by Michele SarnoskI.
