Chris Pratt says the prospect of haunting the ghost of Harrison Ford was enough to dissuade him from even taking on the role of Indiana Jones.
Responding mildly to podcast producer Josh Horowitz, who asked about a 2015 Deadline article that said Disney is seeing Pratt as a new indie, the actor said, “I don’t even know who Steven Spielberg is. What’s going on? who doesn’t do esteban, they don’t. Indiana Jones With Harrison Ford?
“As far as I know,” Pratt continues, “I saw a Harrison Ford quote once, and I don’t even know if it was really him, but enough to scare me, it was: ‘Indiana when I died. Jones. do not die.’ And I wonder, if I play it, will the ghost of Harrison Ford haunt me when I die someday…?
Ford is actually returning to the Indiana Jones franchise for the 2023 James Mangold movie.
But Pratt doesn’t offer to completely dismiss any previous discussion on the subject, instead joking, “Anyone can make mistakes, even if there’s a deadline.”
Deadline keeps its speculative story from 2015.

I’m no body language expert but watch this video and tell me Chris Pratt didn’t convince Steven Spielberg to take on some of the powers of Indiana Jones. pic.twitter.com/bqOdebFHla
