DR.  DEATH Renewed for a second season in Peacock, focusing on the new medical history of a true crime


Doctor Death has been renewed for a second season at Peacock and the show will focus on a new story of a true medical crime in the second season. The first season focused on the case of Dr. Christopher Duntsch and the show will now take on an anthological format and follow a new case each season.

The second season will tell the story of Paolo Macchiarini, a fascinating surgeon famous for his innovative operations which earned him the nickname “Man of Miracles”. When investigative journalist Benita Alexander approaches him for a story, the line between personal and professional begins to blur, forever changing his life. As he learns how far Paul will go to protect his secrets, a group of doctors on the other side of the world make shocking discoveries that question everything about “the miracle man.”

Macmanus Patrol created Doctor Deathas a writer, showrunner and executive producer in the first season. He will continue to serve as an executive producer in season two under his overall agreement with UCP. Ashley Michel Hobanwho worked on the first season as a writer and producer, will be the writer, showrunner and executive producer of the second season. The show is based on the eponymous Wondery podcast.
