After a long wait,Elvis’ by Luz Buhurman It is finally out in Mexican and international theaters, to tell a new version of the life story of the King of Rock & Roll with Austin Butler as the great music star of the Sixties.

‘Elvis’ was officially premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and has sparked immense fury ever since: audiences at the event praised the film and critics later applauded not only Luz Buhurman’s work in directing, but also the great starring role of Austin Butler as Elvis Presley himself and, of course, with Tom Hanks as the famous manager of the musician, Tom Parker.

After its big debut, the film was screened in other major film events such as the Guadalajara International Film Festival. However, it wasn’t until the end of June when the film started rolling out in commercial theaters in the US and Mexico, it took a little longer as it was in the third week of July when it finally hit theaters.

Despite all the delay, “Elvis” is finally in Mexican cinemas to tell the life of Elvis Presley from the point of view of Baz Luhurman. At the moment, the film is showing Cinepolis, Cinemax, Cinedot and some cinetecas or cinephores of the country, such as Mexico City or Guadalajara, Jalisco.

Since Elvis Presley died in the 1970s, cinema has tried to tell his life in a thousand ways: series, documentaries and adaptation films that will tell his time in the world and the mark he left in the music industry, as well as figure that was off stage.

However, who he was from the point of view of his manager, Tom Parker, had never been told; “Elvis” by Baz Luhurman yes. Tom Hanks plays the representative of this great rock star and it is through him that the life of the musician is told: how he met him as a talented boy who did not want to let himself go and how he tried to transform him into the musical myth he ended up being.

The story of ‘Elvis’ is not only that of the famous singer, but also that of his representative and how together they made the talented musician shine like no other in the genre and in the decade.
