Years after it was announced that David O. Russell was preparing a new film, he finally has his first official advance with a trailer starring Margot Robbie, Christian Bale and John David Washington in search of the truth behind a crime in Amsterdam.

The last time David O. Russell was heard was when “Joy” was released in 2015, the same film that gave Jennifer Lawrence the Oscar for her starring role. The director hadn’t made any new projects since and finally, a couple of years ago, there were rumors that he had an ambitious project on the horizon with a renowned cast in front of the cameras.

This mysterious project is’Amsterdam ‘, a dramatic thriller set in the 1930s which sees Christian Bale, Margot Robbie and John David Washington as a doctor, nurse and lawyer who coincide in the German city creating good memories, but also being part of a very terrible one that makes you want to forget : they are witnesses of a crime.

The search for the truth behind the person responsible for this crime is the only thing left for them to prove their innocence … despite the fact that all the clues point to that they are the culprits. All of this is what can be seen in the first trailer of ‘Amsterdam’, where three people trying to create unforgettable memories in a strange city end up being tied for life for a crime that isn’t their fault.

The “Amsterdam” crime will hit theaters in 2022

It’s been many years of waiting for fans of the director David O. Russell and each of the actors who make up the cast of ‘Amsterdam’, to finally be able to see the first premieres of the film. Fortunately, these glimpses are just a taste of what will soon be seen in theaters, as the film is expected to hit the big screen by the end of 2022.

The same trailer confirmed that it will be in November when ‘Amsterdam’ hits international theaters, with Margot Robbie, Cristiano dances Y John David Washington trying to find out the truth about a crime that could lead them to prison if they don’t prove their innocence.

It is possible that before the date arrives you may see some more glimpses; even if we will have to be patient to find out if David O. Russell gives the green light to these advances that will frame the arrival of this long-awaited film set in the Thirties as only the director can do.
