Disney + has released the first trailer and poster for the upcoming documentary series from Lucasfilm and Imagine Documentaries Light and magic. This immersive series “tells the untold story of the famous Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), Lucasfilm’s division of special visual effects, animation and virtual production.”
I attended a presentation for this docuseries at the Star Wars Celebration and learned all kinds of interesting and funny behind the scenes stories about ILM and the creation of Star Wars that I have never known before. This document will be filled with all kinds of fascinating information about many of the classic films that ILM has worked on over the years and is a must for movie buffs!
The series comes from Lorenzo Kasdan (Indiana Jones, The Empire Strikes Back), which has been granted unprecedented access, and “takes viewers on a behind-the-scenes adventure of Industrial Light & Magic. Learn about the pioneers of modern cinema as we embark on a journey to bring George Lucas’ vision to life. These directors would go on to inspire the entire visual effects industry. “
Kasdan directed the series, produced by Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Justin Wilkes, Lawrence Kasdan, Kathleen Kennedy And Michelle Rejwan.
All six episodes of Light and magic will premiere on July 27, exclusively on Disney +.
