Quentin Tarantino is one of the directors who arouses the most fascination among cinema lovers. Virtually every film in his filmography is considered a cult. On July 19 he begins a new project in which he will share much of his knowledge on the Seventh Art. This is ‘The Video Archives Podcast’, in which he will talk to his friend Roger Avary, director of ‘The Rules of the Game’ and co-author of ‘Pulp Fiction’, from the tapes of the Video Archives collectionthe video store where they worked and which Tarantino then acquired, bringing home the VHS collection.

But before talking about films like “Piranha” or “Moonraker”, Tarantino sat down with Empire to talk about a very important milestone in his life: his son’s first film. The director and his wife, Daniella Pick, welcomed their first child, Leo, in February 2020. Although he is only two years old, Tarantino recently took the test to see if the little one could handle a feature film. And what movie did you choose? “Crane 2. My Favorite Villain”: “He’s still very young, so he’s only seen one movie. I thought he was watching some Minions cartoons and I realized it was ‘Crane 2. Despicable me.’ He seemed interested in the opening credits, so I was like “okay, I guess we’ll see” Crane 2 “. She got up and went behind the sofa, but she was still watching television. We watched for about 20 minutes, until it was time to go to the park, and the next day we watched another 15 minutes. So, over the course of a week, in a nutshell, the first movie Leo saw was “Gru 2” “.
The largest British import of the decade
Tarantino too he turned out to be a huge fan of “Peppa Pig” which he considers “the largest British import of this decade”. Clearly with Leo, and now also with his daughter, born on July 2nd, the greatest inspirations will have to be found in Peppa Pig, the Paw Patrol and the Minions.
The last time we went to the cinema to see a Tarantino movie was in 2019 with “Once Upon a Time in … Hollywood”, which won two Oscars for Best Supporting Actor for Brad Pitt and for Best scenography. Although projects have not stopped playing, such as the failed crossover between Django and Zorro or a possible third episode of “Kill Bill”, at the moment it is not known when he will step on a movie set again. Currently, every fan with a good level of English has an appointment with him and Roger Avary starting July 19th on podcast platforms to discover real hidden gems on “The Video Archives Podcast”.
