special: Sports content studio game1 acquires movie rights to memoirs of lawyer Rachel Denhollander
The film follows Denhollander and tells the story of his life from the moment he met Larry Nassar, a former USA Gymnastics team member and Michigan State University doctor. His daughters fight more for justice for serial abuse of medical care. As powerful institutions try to cover up her abuse, the former gymnast embarks on an investigation that will eventually uncover one of history’s most prolific sex offenders and create an army of survivors to take her down. Following Nasser’s leadership, more than 300 women participated in Nasser’s trial and sentencing, which led to a life sentence.
Holland’s courageous bravery and constant advocacy sparked an uproar at USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University, where former executives and senior officials faced multiple charges for covering up Nassar’s abuse and lying about what they knew. He was also instrumental in securing a record $500 million deal with the university for Nassar survivors in 2018 and a $380 million deal with USA Gymnastics in 2021. His memoirs were published by Tyndale Momentum in 2019.
