Taika Waititi should develop a new one Star Wars films for Lucasfilm, e Catherine Kennedy said his movie will be the next Star Wars movie to come out. Waititi previously explained that she is looking to create something new with the franchise and expand the universe beyond all the characters and places we know.
The director has previously stated that he is still trying to come up with an idea for the film and that he is “still throwing everything against the wall”. Well, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the director has not yet understood his idea of him and is not even 100% sure that his film will happen.
When asked about all the Star Wars film projects that were started and then abandoned, Waititi responded by saying:
“It could happen to me. And I think Taika [of] 10 years ago they would have been so panicked and nervous at the prospect of this. But if it’s not right, it’s not right. If it’s not ready, it’s not ready. [With] Star Wars, I don’t want to be in a hurry. It’s something I don’t want to jump into and not feel it’s unique, it’s my movie and it makes sense. Because it would be a disaster. I am writing right now. So I’ll do my best to get an idea that everyone likes. “
He must have some kind of idea he wants to move on with, right? In a previous interview, Waititi talked about wanting to do something new and different with the franchise by saying:
“Look, I think for the Star Wars the universe to expand, it must expand. I don’t think I’m of any use in the Star Wars universe making a movie where everyone says, ‘Oh great, well, this is the blueprint for the Millennium Falcon, ah, that’s Chewbacca’s grandmother. ‘ This is all by itself, it’s great, although I’d like to take something new and create new characters and expand the world, otherwise it feels like it’s a very small story. “
When this quote was raised in the new interview and he was pointed out that if he is trying to avoid Star Wars tropi, the film wouldn’t really be a Star Wars film and Waititi agreed and then picked up on his earlier statement:
“You know what? Who actually said that is probably right. Now that I think about it. As if you said that, I was like, ‘Yeah, if you take it all away. Star Wars stuff, it’s not Star Wars. ‘ So I take back my thing that I said a couple of weeks ago!
Wiaiti is causing all sorts of confusion about this project with these interviews, and I can’t help but think that he is joking with us and that he is much further in the process than what he is saying. But, again, maybe he doesn’t have an idea! Maybe he’s tackling some behind-the-scenes stuff with Lucasfilm in an attempt to come up with a new one Star Wars history. I have no idea, but we’ll find out soon.
