More than seven years after “The Hunger Games” released its latest film in theaters, it was revealed that the popular fantasy saga will have a prequel in which Panem’s past is known. This spin off will be known as “The Ballad of the Songbirds and Snakes” and although it has only been announced a few months ago, it has already been revealed who will be part of its cast led by Rachel Zegler.

Previously, it was revealed that Rachel Zegler, Nick Benson, Josh Andrés Rivera and Tom Blyth are the protagonist of the prequel to “The Hunger Games”. However, more names of the actors and actresses who have joined their cast have recently been released to tell the story of the popular film adaptation of Suzane Collins’ novels.

As revealed Deadline, the quartet of actors will share the cinema screen with Lauren Mardesen, Lilly Copper, Luna Steeple and Hiroki Berrecloth; making it one of the younger cast that currently has a Hollywood production. And best of all, the characters that everyone will play in the spin off have already been announced.

  • Tom Blyth as the young Cornelius Snow
  • Rachel Zegler, Lucy Gray Baird, District 12 Tribute
  • Nick Benson – Jessop, District 12 tribute
  • Josh Andrés Rivera – Sejanus Plinth, District 2 mentor
  • Lauren Mardesen – Mayfair Lipp, responsible for putting Lucy’s name on the crop
  • Lilly Copper – Arachne Crane, District 10 mentor
  • Luna Steeples – Dill, a tribute from District 11
  • Hiroki Berrecloth – Treech, tribute from District 7

For now, these actors and actresses are the only ones to whom it has been revealed that they are part of the Prequel to “The Hunger Games”, “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes”which is currently in development by Lionsgate under the direction of Francis Lawrence, the same director who was behind “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” the second film in this franchise.

Panem’s past will be told in “The Hunger Games” prequel

“The Ballad of the Songbirds and Snakes” is the sixth film in the “Hunger Games” saga and will work as a prequel to all the films we have seen previously in the other installments and, as such, will tell everything that happened before the story. which has already been brought to the big screen.

Away from the story of Katniss Everdeen (Jennier Lawrence), the new film is about Lucy Gray Bird, the young tribute from District 12 mentored by Cornelius Snow, an 18-year-old who long after would be President Snow who led the Capitol in “The Hunger Games”. At least in this storyline she didn’t have that power yet, but she had a mission: to do everything possible to “succeed” in the world and carry on her family, so her tribute is her only option.

This is practically the synopsis of the book, ‘The Ballad of the Songbirds and Snakes’ on which the new film of the same name is based; although early premieres of the film have yet to be seen to really know what the long-awaited prequel will fully focus on.
