Not even a month later Foreigners: chapter 2 released in theaters, the third and final film of the horror trilogy has already appeared in preview.
The teaser of Foreigners: chapter 3 it’s actually the post-credits scene of Chapter 2which has now been published online.
The characteristics of the film Madelaine PetschMaya sits in the car next to Sheriff Rotter. “I know where I am,” she says, before the sheriff gives her a creepy smile.
What follows is pure carnage, as masked killers wreak havoc at a dirty roadside motel. The Scarecrow, also known as the Man in the Mask, can be seen chopping something up with an ax next to a terrified victim.
But there’s an interesting twist. Maya appears inside the motel room, standing next to the killers and wearing Pin-Up Girl’s mask. At first glance, it seems that Maya has joined them, but if you look closely, her hands are tied with rope, so it seems that she is forced to witness another brutal murder.
Directed by Renny Harlin (Deep blue sea), Foreigners: chapter 1 introduced audiences to Maya and her boyfriend Ryan, whose quiet night in a remote cabin turns into a nightmare when they are hunted by three masked strangers. Ryan doesn’t make it out alive, but Maya makes it…barely.
In Foreigners: chapter 2the assassins return after learning that Maya survived, unleashing another round of terror. Maya, now more rebellious and desperate, goes on the offensive, determined to unmask her tormentors and put an end to their reign of terror.
Now, Foreigners: chapter 3 seems to close the trilogy with Maya facing the assassins for the last time. The official synopsis teases: “Maya faces the masked intruders one last time, uncovering chilling secrets that turn survival into a showdown.”
The trailer comes just weeks after Chapter 2’s disappointing box office run. According to Box Office Mojo, the sequel grossed $14.6 million worldwide on an $8.5 million budget. Not a total disaster, but a notable drop from Foreigners: chapter 1which earned $48.2 million.
Critics were also not kind to the trilogy. The first film scored 21% on Rotten Tomatoes and Chapter 2 it dropped even lower to around 14%. This is very different Bryan Bertino’s Classic from 2008 The Foreignerswhich remains a cult favorite among horror fans.
Next to Petsch, The Foreigners features of the trilogy Riccardo Freno, Rachel Shenton, George Young, Kyle Breitkopf, Janis Ahern, Kristal Ellsworth, Pablo Sandstrom, Brian Law, Leo Pietro, Joel Label, Nola Wallace, Stefania AubertinAND Jake Cogman.
Foreigners: chapter 3 It doesn’t have an official release date yet, but from the looks of this teaser, Maya’s nightmare is far from over.
