Jonathan Majors is being coy about Kang’s possible return to the MCU

Jonathan Majorswhich he brought LokiHe is the One Who Remains Ant-Man and the Wasp: QuantumaniaKang the Conqueror comes to life, once again at the center of speculation about his Marvel future. And this time he’s not exactly denying anything.

In a new interview with The US Sun, Majors was asked point-blank if there’s a chance he’ll return to the MCU as Kang. According to the outlet, the actor “smiled from ear to ear” before offering a tease, “I can’t say anything about it,” while “trying to play coy but unable to hide his smile.”

When pressed further, Majors added, “Well, it’s a Multiverse, so there’s always that. Always plenty of opportunities to do that.” He also said he’s “very happy” to know that many fans still want to see him as the time-traveling villain.

Majors’ future with Marvel became uncertain in December 2023 when the actor was found guilty of a charge of third-degree reckless assault and a harassment violation following an altercation with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Shortly after the verdict, Marvel Studios cut ties with him.

Majors has since completed a 52-week domestic violence intervention program and has kept a relatively low profile. His independent film Dreams magazine was quietly released despite previous Oscar hopes, and now the actor is carefully approaching a comeback.

Earlier this year, Majors recalled the moment he discovered his time in the MCU was over. “He says, ‘I’m just telling you now,’” Majors said, quoting a member of his legal team. “‘This way you’re not surprised and you can start to process it. They fired you. Marvel fired you.'”

Reflecting on that painful time, Majors admitted, “There were days when I wondered, ‘Is this real?’ It’s heartbreak like I’ve never experienced and it gets worse and worse.

Despite that heartbreak, the actor is already eyeing new opportunities. “No relation to the big boys, DC or Marvel, but a pretty evil story,” Majors joked about another superhero project he’s reading.

“I’m happy to read.” He added: “Sometimes it feels like it’s not going to happen. And sometimes it feels like we’re going to start next week.”

As for Kang, fans are still wondering how Marvel will handle the fallout Quantimania AND Loki. Studying is next Avengers the film was once titled The Kang Dynasty but it has since been renamed Avengers: Judgment Dayand the entire story hinges on Doctor Doom as the big bad of the Multiverse Saga. However, within the vast possibilities of the MCU, a Kang cameo isn’t entirely out of the question.

Avengers: Judgment Day the release is scheduled for December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars followed on December 17, 2027. We’ll just have to wait and see if Jonathan Majors ends up showing up at some point to completely wrap up the Kang story arc that had begun.
