James Gunn reveals the worst note he has ever received from Marvel on the guardians of the galaxy

The first Guardians of the galaxy The film could have had a very different atmosphere if James Gunn He had followed a note in the studio that still remembers one of the worst I have ever received. Fortunately for the fans, he ignored him.

Recently on Thread, Gunn was asked what was the worst note in the studio of his career. His answer? A suggestion that could have completely changed the atmosphere of Guardians of the galaxy. Gunn recalled:

“I was told that nobody would like the guardian soundtrack and I should change it in Britney Spears like the songs of the 90s. I don’t know if it’s the worst, but that’s what I remember most!”

That decision ended up being a turning point. The soundtrack of the 2014 Marvel film was built around the mixtape transported by Peter Quill, full of music of the 60s and 70s. It was an incredibly creative choice that gave the film its unique identity, even if someone from Marvel thought it would not be connected to the public.

Instead, the soundtrack has become a phenomenon, climbing first in the US Billboard 200 ranking, making history as the first album made up entirely of songs previously published at the top of the ranking.

Not only that, but the Guardians of the galaxy The soundtrack has been certified platinum by riaa and has become the second best -selling soundtrack of 2014 in the United States, right behind Disney’s Frozen.

Has reintroduced classic blows like “hooked to a feeling” Swabe blue and “I’m not enough in the mountains” of Marvin Gaye AND Tammi Terrell to a whole new generation of fans.

The success of the soundtrack cemented the Guardians The films are as much as music as on intergalactic action. Each episode has provided unforgettable Aug drops from Electric light orchestra “Mr. Blue Sky” in Vol. 2 a Florence and the car “Dog days ended” in vol. 3.

Feel the story of Gunn now, it is difficult to imagine the Guardians of the galaxy Film without their iconic retro playlist. If he had taken that note, the entire personality of the franchise could have been lost.

Fortunately, Gunn blocked himself to his vision and the public around the world is still oscillated to the Star-Lord mixtape.
