Matt Reeves talks about Robin and bad guys for Batman: Part II

There were rumors that Robin could finally make his way Matt Reeves’Gotham. During a recent conversation, Reeves shed light on the possibility, while making fun of the way the sequel is forming while the production is preparing to start at the end of April with Robert Pattinson Back in the cloak and hood.

Reeves confirmed it The Batman: Part II will continue as a story of DC Elseworlds, separated from James Gunn’s du.

While talking to Josh Horowitz, the director revealed that he and the co-writer Mattson Tomlin He explored many ideas and characters in Batman’s story before settling on the direction of the film.

When Robin’s specifically asked, Reeves admitted:

“Well, of course, you talk about everything. There is probably no character we haven’t talked about. What could it be? What could it be? Is it part of the beginning of something.”

However, Reeves clarified the heart of the sequel is with Bruce Wayne himself. He explained how the new villain will link Batman’s personal history directly, saying:

“By choosing the right bad man who digs in what he does, that type of going to his past and his life. This was what he guided that discussion. I will not tell you where we ended up, but we are very enthusiastic about it and I will say that it has never really been done in a film before.”

Reeves also touched Gunn’s recent comments on how to direct something for DCU. Reeves clarified that while conversations have occurred, his attention remains firmly on the end of the story he started.

“We haven’t talked about anything like that, we had conversations on how things would have worked in general. Of course it would be very funny. I want to reproduce the stories we started and get to the conclusion that I hoped to have arrived at the beginning.”

With the pre-production already going ahead, Reeves has confirmed that the script was shared with Pattinson and that the cameras should be launched by the end of April or the beginning of May.

While spin-off like The penguin The series are still on the table, Reeves has clarified that its priority is delivery The Batman: Part II Before expanding further in Gotham.

So, while Robin may not yet be overcome, it is exciting to know Reeves and his team is digging deep in the world of Batman and planning something that we have never seen before on the big screen.
